Realization (I miss Popito!)

As you all know, I stopped working about 2 weeks ago. It has been so nice staying home with my kids and getting some other goals worked on. I think this change has affected Zo most of all. The whole time I was working she was lucky enough to have her grandparents watch her. On Mondays, or Tuesdays she would go to Nana B’s (my mom) and on Thursdays Popito (Stephen’s dad) would come over and play. Well, within the last couple of months it had become very hard to leave her on Thursdays. Her brother and sister were at school and there were no cousins to play with. All she knew was that I was working and Popito was coming to watch her while everyone else left. The very last day of work, I think I blogged about, she just stood on the front lawn and screamed. Popito was very good about it and let her have it out and then took her inside when she was ready, with out even getting upset or hurt feelings. He is an amazing father-in -law.

Well, as I was sitting at my computer a few minutes ago, Zo came in and so randomly cried that she misses Popito. It took a couple weeks, but I think she has realized that he is not coming to play every week anymore. I told her that he went to Florida to visit his mom and that he would come visit when he got back. She just sat in my lap and again said that she missed Popito. Of course without missing a beat she covered her bases. In the same breath she let me know that she did not want me to leave again either. And as long as I am using all these cliches, yes, she wants her cake and to eat it too.

This is her and her little attitude at Popito’s house on Christmas.realization.jpg

It’s been quite a while since I wrote on here, and since It’s kind of late and I want to get up early to run I’ve decided to just make mostly a photo blog. The kids and I spent a few days up in Page visiting Emily and her family.  We had a great time. …

  • It’s a Guy Thing

This Christmas was a wonderful one, not for the things I got (although I was spoiled), but for the generosity I saw in my family. Stephen and I decided not to exchange gifts. Wait, actually Steve said if he had any presents under the tree he would be mad. Absolutely no gifts! I told him…

I was telling some little friends of mine that my dad was a cowboy and they were so excited.  It was funny.  I guess there aren’t as many as there once were.  I’ve been thinking a lot about Dad lately.  I actually had to get up and leave church Sunday because I couldn’t get control…

  1. That’s so great that she has such a good relationship with her grandparents. My kids are lucky that way too.
