Book tag

Darilyn tagged me a few days ago. This really is a different tag and I am excited to see what books strike my interest from it.
Here’s how it works:

1. Pick up the nearest book (one of at least 123 pages)

2. Open the page to 123

3. Find the 5th sentence.

4. Post the next 3 sentences

5. Tag 5 people.

The book closest to me is one that Stephen is reading for a class at school. It is The Classic Fairy Tales. On page 123 is a rendition of Cinderella called Catskin, by Joseph Jacobs.

” So there she hid her fine dresses, and went up to the castle gates, and asked for work. The lady of the castle saw her, and told her,’I’m sorry I have no better place, but if like you may be our scullion.’ So down she went into the kitchen, and they called her Catskin, because of her dress.”

This book has some interesting versions of the fairy tales and often times they are not ones you would want to read to your kids. But then again, Grimm’s were pretty grim.

I tag…Kas, Emily, Kim, Alisa, and Emily M

It’s been quite a while since I wrote on here, and since It’s kind of late and I want to get up early to run I’ve decided to just make mostly a photo blog. The kids and I spent a few days up in Page visiting Emily and her family.  We had a great time. …

It’s been a while since I wrote last. I keep doing things and thinking, I should really blog about that. Then I think, wait, there is too much to write and too little time. It’s ok though. Stephen has kept us so much more entertained w/ his excited adventures than I could have. Also, I…

Here we are living in UT.  That is one phrase I never thought I would say, but there it is, and I’m really enjoying it so far.  Stephen is doing an amazing job at keeping everyone updated on our experiences here, so I’m going to leave that to him for now.  I love that he…

  1. Ok- I don’t think I’ll manage to get the book read by Monday. Maybe I’ll come and meet everyone and just listen and then next time I’ll read the book and be able to contribute. Would that be okay? Which Paradise Bakery?

I’ve got Art Masterpiece on my calendar…I’m not sure if I have to paint that day…I’ll let you know. If I don’t, I’ll be there for sure! Thanks, Elise!

  2. What is Art Masterpiece??? Is that a club or something? Ha ha.. I’m out of it.

Anyway, Elise, I like that little tag you did. Did you see my “random fun” post? Kim did it too. You ought to try it just for fun.

I’m trying to convince Rich to move back out there, but it wouldn’t be as fun if you weren’t there… so, we don’t know what we’re wanting to do yet. It would be nice to finish school one of these days – it’s taking SOOO long. And I’m not patient enough, I guess.

  3. Spelling is not required, thank goodness. As long as you can read you’re in. I think our next meeting is going to be on Monday the 25th after kids are in bed (about 8:30). I think we are going for Paradise Bakery too. If you need the book let me know and you can borrow mine. It’s Eat, Pray, Love.

I’m so excited you want to join us.
Oh yeah, Art Masterpiece is 2/29 (Friday) @ 9:45.

  4. I would LOVE to join the book club! How do I go about it? Do I have to take a test and prove I’m literate before I’m accepted? No, seiously, I would love it! Let me know what to do…

  5. Thanks for “tagging” me Elise! I feel so special! I’ve never been tagged before! This is a fun one….

  6. Ooh, this tag looks like fun. I’ll do it soon. It’s hard to tell which book is closest to me. I literally have books all over this house. Should I pick the one I’m reading right now, or just randomly pick up one?
