I am a child of God, and so my knees are gray.

Tonight Zo was having a hard time falling asleep. She had growing pains and, remembering having them when I was a kid, I am always very understanding when my kids legs hurt. I put on the cd of primary music that the kids got to practice with. I Am a Child of God is Zo’s favorite. She asked me if I would like her to sing it to me. How could any mom turn that down? She sang the first verse in her own little way. She got most of it right or at least the important part about the parents kind and dear. It was when she got to the second verse that I had to turn my head so she wouldn’t see me laughing. Everything comes from God right? So, why not gray knees?

Today Antoinette, Kas, Andy Childs, and Grampy went on a birthday bike ride. Oh yeah, I went too. We rode around the lakes at Fulton Ranch. It was a lot of fun and took me back to the days when we went riding with Dad as kids. After the ride we met Nana B and Zo at the Good Egg for lunch. Yum!

Last week Zo’s preschool class came to visit Farmer Tom and Farmer Reuben. The letter of the week was V so they were learning about vegetables and how they grow. It was so fun to see all the little 3/4 year olds walking single file following Tom through the garden like little ducks.

After showing the kids where veggies came from and how they grow, Farmer Tom let them all pick carrots. Some were orange and some were purple. Some were big and some were little.

I’m guessing Zo looks like this because she picked a little orange one. My favorite was watching the kids eat the purple off the carrots, like kernels off corn. Next they got to plant either beans or flowers in their own pot.

Tomorrow we get to go to a cubs game. Ah, spring training. I put up pics this weekend probably.

This spring break has been amazingly busy. Somehow I thought I would have more time not working. Weird. But, I’m loving every minute of it.
